Alabama Section of ASCE leadership regretfully announces the cancellation of the 2020 Late Summer Conference scheduled for September 30 – October 2, 2020 at The Lodge in Gulf Shores, Alabama. On Wednesday, September 16, Hurricane Sally made landfall in Gulf Shores directly impacting the Alabama Gulf Coast. As recovery efforts are underway, the City of Gulf Shores has extended visitor restrictions through October 2, 2020. We support the City’s decision and the continued recovery efforts by cancelling the conference. Please see below for details for cancellations and refunds. Each year, the surplus from the conference is deposited into the scholarship fund, which supports students in the state of Alabama pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering. Non-refunded registration fees will be considered a donation to the scholarship fund once conference costs that cannot be refunded have been paid.
